How It Works

Develop

Methods are developed by following intuitive wizard-based instructions. The user is guided through:

  • evaluation—platform assesses material + container for compatibility.
  • development—robust process with in-built advisories.
  • validation—meets the standards for cGMP environments and global pharmacopeia.

Deploy

Bring raw material identification where it belongs—in the warehouse. Vaya delivers:

  • Pass/Fail answers in seconds based on validated, robust methods.
  • fully compliant software for use in GMP environments.
  • easy training and integration in warehouse reception protocols through LIMS parsing and barcode scanning.

Synchronize

Vaya is a better way of performing RMID and future-proofs your workflow with intuitive operation and leading data input/synchronization:

  • Simple LCD interface, mechanical keypad and barcode scanner for quick and error-free data entry.
  • Onboard software purpose-built for RMID and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
  • Sync with flexibility to corporate networks.
  • Scale your operations with fleet management and method sharing

Environmental impact

The Vaya handheld Raman spectrometer has been independently audited for its environmental impact and has received the ACT (Accountability, Consistency, Transparency) label, published by My Green Lab. Vaya also introduces zero-waste raw material ID with non-invasive analysis. See how you can reduce your lab’s environmental impact with sustainability-driven innovation.

Applications

Biopharma raw materials

Vaya can be used to accelerate the release of raw materials used in the biopharmaceutical industry and help achieve 100% identification, economically.

The ability of Vaya to analyze through nontransparent and transparent containers enables the identification of many raw materials used in the manufacturing of oligonucleotides and other biopharma products. Raw materials include sugar, growth cell media, amino-acids, polysorbates, and buffers. These are analyzed without sampling or opening of containers (including single use bags).

Pharma: small molecules

In the raw materials warehouse quarantine area, Vaya can be used to rapidly release excipients, API, precursors, dyes, and coating agents used in the manufacturing of drug products.

Vaya maximizes return on investment by scanning raw materials directly through opaque secondary containers, including paper sacks. Warehouse personnel can quickly perform mandated tests on incoming raw materials to meet production demand.

Vaya: a versatile solution

The Vaya system’s patented SORS technology has proved valuable in a number of markets, including the food industry (nutraceuticals), cosmetics, animal health, and agriculture. While regulations differ by jurisdiction and industry, Vaya enables a traceable, robust and broad coverage of raw materials for expedient release to production.

Technology

Spatially Offset Raman Spectroscopy (SORS)

Spatially offset Raman Spectroscopy (SORS) is a unique way to analyze objects when the contents are behind non-transparent layers or containers.

Handheld & Portable Raman Spectrometers

The development of handheld Raman spectrometers sparked a step change in portable spectroscopy applications, enabling users to conduct measurements in the field, wherever required. Agilent portable Raman systems use SORS to measure through opaque containers in pharmaceutical raw material ID, hazmat, CBRN, and policing.
